Fundraising Week.

Having had our show in July, it seems that the next one is ages away but it comes round really fast and we need to have regular fundraising events so that all the expenses doesn’t fall at the end.

Therefore at the end of term we always like to have a fundraising week, new exciting ideas are always encouraged, please get in touch if you would like to help out or help organise an event (maybe even for the mums and dads).

***  Week commencing 18/11 we will invite the children to ditch their dance uniform and either come in their own clothes or if they dare come in fancy dress. This can or needn’t be Christmas related. Please can there be a voluntary donation for this (suggestion: £1). Come on..  even the adult tappers can wear silly hats. Please ensure clothes are safe to dance in with no loops or trip hazards etc.

***  We will also have a raffle (of course). Wine a hamper full of Christmas goodies and other prizes too! Tickets are £1 a strip. Tickets can be bought for the raffle at anytime and will be drawn at the end of term.

Please give generously.

Showcase & Presentation of Cups & Awards 2019

We would cordially like to invite you to the Redhurst annual Presentation Afternoon, which this year will be held at the Jubilee Community Centre, Charleswood Road, on Saturday 23rd November between 4.00 and 6.30pm.

You will have received more details via email by now. We hope that many of you will come and support the dancers on the day. In the meantime, we ask five things.

1. That you keep the date/time free, this is always a lovely afternoon, the children love getting together and seeing what they have learnt, it is lovely that all our students and parents have the opportunity to mix and celebrate our children’s achievements.

2. We ask that all trophies that were presented last year are to be returned as soon as possible in a clean condition.

3. Anyone inspired by the recent ‘Great British Bake Off’ please grab your apron and mixing bowl, we will be serving an afternoon tea and any cake donations will be very gratefully received. Don’t start baking just yet, we don’t require your creations until the 16th. Bringing cakes along on the day will be perfect, but if you definitely know you can do some baking, please let us now so that we can relax.

4. Raffle: with every event there is an obligatory raffle. Any donations will be gratefully received. Any profit that we make from the afternoon will be poured straight into show fund so that we keep the costs of the next show as low as possible. You can drop raffle prizes off at class or email [email protected] for other drop-off points. We also need one or two to help organise the raffle, gather the prizes together, make up hampers if appropriate and help on the day. If you think you can help, please contact us.

5. If you would like to volunteer for this or any other event please let us know. We are a small group trying to achieve big things. Simply get in touch.

FANCY DRESS WEEK (and Easter Egg Raffle)

We apologise for the late notice, we hoped to get a notice out last week but other circumstances got in the way.

This week we are having a Non-Uniform/Fancy Dress week at Redhurst where we invite all children to bring in £1 and in return, they can wear either their own clothes or be outrageous and wear fancy dress for classes!

Please make sure they can move comfortably and safely in their clothes.

We will also be having an Easter Raffle! For a chance to win one of three delicious Easter Eggs you can buy a ticket for 50p, three prizes means three chances.

ALL money raised from these two incentives will go straight into our SHOW FUND!

As you know, next term is show term and to put on a show costs thousands of pounds for the theatre, lighting, costumes etc, only some of which is covered by the show fee and ticket sales which we want to keep affordable.

Due to popular demand, and contrary to our original announcement we would like to put on THREE shows, (evening Tuesday 25th plus Matinee/Evening Wednesday 26th July) but to do so we need to raise a considerable sum. Every little helps, so please support us.

To summarise

Non-Uniform week (tomorrow Mon 13 to Sat 18 March) £1

Raffle tickets 50p (of course you can buy more than one if you wish 😀
