Congratulations Georgia and Violet

Recently two of our dancers Georgia and Violet took part in the English Youth Ballet’s performance of Cinderella in Hollywood at the Hawth in Crawley.

After successfully auditioning to be in the company, alongside professional dancers the girls rehearsed very hard up until the production and enjoyed the performance immensely.

The English Youth Ballet regularly presents full-length classical ballets in select regional theatres which include the Hawth in Crawley, bringing opportunity to young dancers outside London aged 8-18 years to perform within a professional setting.

The girls performed exceptionally well and we are all extremely proud of them.

Mrs. Patricia Prime

It is with great sadness and a heavy hearts, we would like to inform you that our dear Mrs. Prime passed away on Monday morning 13th August.

This was very unexpected and will be a great shock to our past and present students. She adored teaching at Redhurst and often praised the work ethic and commitment of our school and pupils. She had a joy for teaching and a unique ability to touch each child and student in her care to achieve the best from them. The students will miss her dreadfully, but they repaid her with their love and respect.

She was a wonderful inspiring lady – one of the greats, known and respected in the Dance World producing many professional dancers, actors and actresses in her time and lately encouraged our students to enter the dance profession and have faith in their abilities.

Her stories and expertise will be hugely missed and we should feel proud and privileged to have known her. Miss Kay had a conversation with her the previous Friday and she left her in great spirits as she was talking with enthusiasm about next term and the show. It is hard to comprehend that we will not see her again.

We will of course do something in her memory, but meanwhile should you have any memories or messages you wish to share, Sian her daughter and family will be pleased for us to pass them on. Please email us on [email protected]

The end of an era. Our apologies for being the bearer of such sad news.

Auditions for the Centre of Advanced Training

Do you love to dance? Are you aged 10-16 yrs?

If you have passion, ambition, creativity, dedication and the potential to excel in dance, the Centre for Advanced Training programme can help you pursue a career in dance.

Centre for Advanced Training programmes are funded by the government’s Music & Dance Scheme. All participants can apply for a means-tested grant and for those who qualify for the grant, training is either free or subsidised.

You do not need any formal dance training but you will need to demonstrate natural ability, such as exceptional musicality and physicality. Applicants must have commitment and a passion for dance and, if successful, will enter the programme in September 2018. Interviews are by invitation and will take place during May.

If this sounds like you, applications are available on our website.

You can also contact the Centre for Advanced Deputy Manager at 020 7121 1037 or email for more information.

Deadline for applications: Monday 19 March

Applicants will be allocated an audition within two weeks of submitting their completed application form, at the earliest by Tue 14 March.
