No classes on Friday 24th March

Once again there will be a jumble sale at the Scout Hut on Saturday 25th March and therefore they will need to use the hall on Friday 24th to prepare.

Therefore there will be NO classes on Friday 24th March – the make-up classes will take place on Fri 31st March instead, the classes will remain at their usual times.

My sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you but I hope you will all understand. The Scouts hold fundraising jumble sales twice a year and it was a condition when we hired the Scout Hut on a Friday that we would not require it on those dates.
Thank you for your support and understanding as always.

FANCY DRESS WEEK (and Easter Egg Raffle)

We apologise for the late notice, we hoped to get a notice out last week but other circumstances got in the way.

This week we are having a Non-Uniform/Fancy Dress week at Redhurst where we invite all children to bring in £1 and in return, they can wear either their own clothes or be outrageous and wear fancy dress for classes!

Please make sure they can move comfortably and safely in their clothes.

We will also be having an Easter Raffle! For a chance to win one of three delicious Easter Eggs you can buy a ticket for 50p, three prizes means three chances.

ALL money raised from these two incentives will go straight into our SHOW FUND!

As you know, next term is show term and to put on a show costs thousands of pounds for the theatre, lighting, costumes etc, only some of which is covered by the show fee and ticket sales which we want to keep affordable.

Due to popular demand, and contrary to our original announcement we would like to put on THREE shows, (evening Tuesday 25th plus Matinee/Evening Wednesday 26th July) but to do so we need to raise a considerable sum. Every little helps, so please support us.

To summarise

Non-Uniform week (tomorrow Mon 13 to Sat 18 March) £1

Raffle tickets 50p (of course you can buy more than one if you wish 😀

CHAPERONE LICENCES – what you need to know.

Thanks to those who are already coming forward to offer their services as chaprones, we need a lot more! It is not scary and you will get a lot of help.

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions.

If you CAN offer your services, please email admin@redhurstschoolsofdancing.co.uk and we shall HAPPILY send you over details about the course.

If you have a licence already please let us know.

Q I wish to become a licensed chaperone. What do I do, how long will it take?

A A chaperone licence is issued by the Local Authority dependent on your home address, we only issue licences therefore to West Sussex residents according to which authority you pay your council tax. We hope to process all applications within 6 weeks.

[We are running a course for chaperones to help with festivals and the show on 1st March. If you live outside West Sussex or cannot make that date, please get in touch and we shall try and get you onto another course]

Q Grandparents/aunts/family members: do they need a Chaperone license to take the family children to photo shoots/performances?

A Yes they do need to be licensed. Only the natural Parents or Legal Guardian can act as a chaperone unlicensed for their OWN child.
